The Amgen Rhode Island Science and Engineering Fair is a place for students to explore through actual hands-on experience the many exciting and emerging fields of science, technology and engineering . . . and to learn the skills necessary to be a success in today’s world!

Divided into two sections, Junior and Senior, the RISEF is an experience that lasts a lifetime. Middle school students in grades 6-8 may enter the Junior fair individually, or with a team project. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to register for the Senior fair. In addition to learning critical skills, entrants can also win great prizes and scholarships. The two top senior winners win $500 Amgen scholarships, $500 grants for their schools and they advance to the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair.

Science is everywhere. In the home, in the garden, in the office, in the supermarket, on TV, on the street... everywhere. No matter what you do, to be successful you will need to learn how to think critically and creatively and how to work with others. You will have to be curious, have an open mind and a respect for other possibilities. And, you will need to know how to use technology. These are skills scientists use every day. These are skills you will learn and use when you enter the science fair!
